This course provides students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the fast-paced environment of airport ground operations. This course covers a wide range of topics, including aircraft marshalling, baggage handling, ramp safety, fueling, and aircraft towing. Students will gain hands-on experience in handling aircraft and equipment while ensuring safe, efficient, and timely ground operations. Upon successful completion, graduates will be prepared to work in various roles within the aviation industry, maintaining safety and service excellence on the ramp.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Ramp Service Agent

  • Aircraft Marshalling: Safely guide aircraft in and out of parking areas using hand signals or light signals.
  • Baggage Handling: Load and unload luggage, cargo, and other freight from aircraft to ensure smooth operations.
  • Aircraft Towing: Operate tugs and tow tractors to move aircraft on the ground, ensuring precise positioning.
  • Ground Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain ground support equipment like baggage carts, refueling trucks, and air-start units.
  • Refueling Aircraft: Ensure that aircraft are properly fueled according to safety regulations and airline requirements.
  • Ramp Safety: Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment, following all airport safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Cargo Handling: Secure and transport cargo to and from the aircraft, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety.
  • Aircraft Servicing: Perform minor maintenance checks and ensure aircraft systems (e.g., water, oxygen) are properly stocked.
  • Communication: Coordinate with flight crews, ground control, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Documentation: Record data such as fuel levels, cargo weight, and baggage counts for accurate reporting.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all aviation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

6 months (theory 2 terms and 1 term or 3 months industrial attachment for Certificate
